The Association of Basque Municipalities and Naturgas Energía sign an agreement that makes easier the management of local taxesThe President of the Association of Basque Municipalities - Euskadiko Udalen Elkartea (EUDEL), Karmelo Sainz de la Maza, and Naturgas Energía company`s General Managing Director, Rubén Llop, signed earlier this morning an agreement whose goal is to make easier the management of local taxes corresponding to the gas company due to the use of local public domain for the offer of its services, in this case the supply of natural gas, and equal to the 1.5% of the invoiced gross income.
For that purpose Naturgas Energía will make quarterly liquidation of its income in a standardised format, and will hand in the list of marketers that use its infrastructure and, as a result, give Naturgas economic considerations. The agreement establishes the creation of an intermediation board whose function will be to solve any discrepancies that may occur. The board`s membership will be formed by EUDEL, NATURGAS ENERGÍA and the affected Town Council and will have to solve the dispute in a three-month period beginning with the notification of the discrepancy. The agreement compels all the adhered Town Councils to renounce to any judicial or administrative action during the aforementioned intermediation period.
Likewise the agreement, automatically renewable every year unless denounced three months beforehand, regulates the creation of a permanent guarantee by the company, equivalent to the 3% of the works foreseen each year.
Once signed the agreement the Town Councils will be able to enter it through a formula included in it.
