More than 200 politicians and directors of Basque Town Councils take part in seminars and training courses by EUDEL
Today, Monday October 17, at 9 o'clock in the morning, began EUDEL's specific training seminars addressed to Mayors, Town Councillors and, for the first time, to directors of Basque Town Councils.
More than 200 representatives and directors of Local Governments will take part, in the near future, in the six seminars on specific features of local life and in the course entitled 'Training Course on Local Political Work' with the aim of analysing and evaluating new governability methods that enhance everyday local management.
In particular, today began the seminar entitled "Organisation Methods for Local Polices", with high participation of Mayors, Town Councillors, Local Police Department Heads and Town Councils' Organisation and Human Resources Heads. During the next months several experts will give 1 or 2-day seminars on: Management-methods for Local Services, Town Planning and Housing, Sociocultural Services, Enhancement services for public service and best practices for administrative procedures.
Together with specific seminars, the third edition of the 'Training Course on Local Political Work' takes place on Thursday and Friday every fortnight. The course makes an in-depth treatment of four different modules: Politics and Local Government, Local Government's Resources, Relational Skills for Local Governments and Organisation Skills for Local Governments.
Since the beginning of EUDEL's Training Courses for Mayors and Town Councillors three years ago, more than 500 local representatives took part with the aim of learning, enhancing and exchanging knowledge on local politics, very often tightening ties with Mayors and Town Councillors of other Autonomous Regions that came to EUDEL's headquarters in Bilbao in order to take part in its Training Courses.
The Association of Basque Municipalities-Euskal Udalen Elkartea highly appreciates the great participation of Local Government representatives in this pioneer training initiative for local representatives. The association thinks that these courses constitute an unbeatable forum where politicians of every tendency and ideology share their ideas with respect, showing a strong will to improve.
